7. Route the 4-Flat harness to the center of the
vehicle. Route T-Connector end with the green
wire along backside of bumper fascia, to the
opening in the passenger side wheel well and
to the passenger side taillight pocket. (For ease
of installation temporarily disconnect bumper
fascia brackets.)

8. Route the wire being careful to avoid any
hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any
other points that may pinch or break the wire.
9. Mount 4-Flat in a suitable location under
the vehicle.
10. Locate a suitable grounding point near
the adapter such as the vehicle frame or
crossmember. (Do not drill into vehicle floor
or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from
area. Drill a 3/32" hole and secure white
wire using eyelet and screw provided

CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling
to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal
injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
11. Behind the taillight assembly on the Driver’s side,
clean a flat area using a mixture of rubbing alcohol
and water. Mount the T-Connector black box using
double-sided tape provided.
12. Reseat quarter panel that was moved
in step 3 and replace 10mm nuts

13. Plug the T-Connector end with the yellow
wire in-between the mating plugs on the Driver’s
side taillight socket and vehicle wiring harness.
Repeat for the passenger’s side using the
T-Connector containing the green wire.
Be careful not to damage the locking tabs
and be sure that connectors are fully
inserted with locking tabs in place.
WARNING
All connections must be complete for the
T-Connector to function properly. For initial
test, reset vehicle electrical system by
temporarily removing the key from the
ignition. Test and verify installation with
a test light or trailer once installed.
14. Secure all loose wires with cable ties.
WARNING
Secure the remainder of the T-Connector
harness with the cable ties provided, to prevent
damage or rattling and being careful to avoid
any areas that would pinch, cut or melt the wire.
15. Reinstall wheel wells, mud guards, taillights
and other items removed during installation,
being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT
exceed lower of towing manufacturer rating or:
• Max. stop/turn light: 1 per side (2.1 amps).
• Max. tail lights: (4.2 amps).

TOOLS NEEDED
Trim Panel Remover, 10mm Socket & Ratchet or
10mm Wrench, Torx-15, #2 Philips Screwdriver
1. Open the rear lift gate. On the driver and
passenger sides of the vehicle, remove two
Torx-15 screws

. Carefully pull the taillight
away from the vehicle being careful not to
damage the alignment pins.
2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle,
locate the vehicle's taillight wiring harness. The
taillight wiring harness will have a connection
point, on both sides, matching the ends of the
T-Connector. Separate this connector, being
careful not to break the locking tabs. All connector
surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
3. On the driver and passenger sides of the
vehicle, in taillight pocket, remove two 10mm
nuts. Carefully pull quarter panel slightly away
from vehicle to allow clearance for T-Connector
housings and black box only

4. In rear wheel wells, partially remove wheel
well and mud guard. (For ease of installation
remove tires and completely remove wheel
well and mud guard)

5. From the driver side taillight pocket, route the
T-Connector end with the green wire and the
4-Flat thru the opening exposed in step 4.
(For ease of installation use a fish wire
between taillight pocket and wheel well.)

6. From underneath the vehicle, locate the
T-Connector end with the green wire and
the 4-Flat. Route both rearward to the
backside of the bumper fascia.
